Contest Brief

The brief is to design a Seat with three point seat belts which are to be used in the Staff and School Bus category. Students can participate in either or both of the categories.

How to Participate?

  • Visit www.evage.in and register for the EVage Design Contest 2023.
  • Submit your design along with a brief description and 3 sketches / renderings with a 3D digital model.
  • Engineering and Structure design of the Seat will be add-on.
  • Designs must be submitted only in Wire / OBJ / Maya format.
  • Poster format for Print must be 16:9 300 DPI.
  • You may send multiple entries.
  • Last date of sending your entries is 02 June 2023.
  • The results would be announced on 13 June 2023.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Designs would be evaluated by an elite panel of experts from the automotive design industry.
  • Evaluation shall be based on key aspects like Comfort, Safety, Lightweighting and Performance.
  • Designs incorporating aspects other than those mentioned above would be appreciated.
  • Innovative designs that solve real world problems and add value to people’s lives are what we are looking for.
  • The designs are expected to be well thought out and must be practical in terms of both Form and Function.

    Noor Dasmesh Singh

    Noor Dasmesh Singh is the founder of NOOR Architects Consultants, a globally recognized cross-disciplinary practice that specializes in Urbanism, Architecture, Interior Design, Product Design and Strategy. He has worked with renowned organizations like Google, BBC and The British Museum, and has taught at Chandigarh College of Architecture. Additionally, he co-authored a book on UNESCO World Heritage sites in Delhi & Agra published by the Routledge Francis & Taylor. NOOR Architects Consultants is India’s first architecture and design studio in the Metaverse, which got featured in Assouline’s book ‘Metaverse Dream’ and also named one of the ’50 Most Influential Projects’ globally.

    Lalit Kumar Das

    Faculty at Delhi Technological University & Visiting Professor at IIT Bombay.

    Lalit Kumar Das established Industrial Design education at IIT Delhi, creating a program that combines design and industrial skills. He has designed products for various purposes, including for those with disabilities, and has worked on ergonomic studies for transportation systems. He has published extensively and continues to supervise doctoral students and has also been involved in policy development and as an expert member for government programs. He is deeply interested in sustainable design and has given TEDx talks on related topics. Currently, he holds positions as a Distinguished Honorary Faculty at Delhi Technological University and Distinguished Visiting Professor at IIT Bombay, while also serving as a guest faculty member at other institutions.

    Prof. Puneet Tandon

    Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Design at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing

    Prof. Puneet Tandon is a joint Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Design at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Jabalpur, India. He is a mentor of the deLOGIC Lab and Social Innovations Lab. His research interests include innovative product design, advanced manufacturing technologies, and CAx technologies. He has more than 34 years of experience in engineering research and education, with more than 320 publications and 23 patents. He has supervised 17 doctoral students and 77 masters’ students. He has received grants from various funding agencies and organizations and has been awarded the 2020 DUO-India Fellowship Award with the University of Padova, Italy. He has also been awarded several prizes in international and national conferences, and he participates actively in international academic organizations.
